The Questa History and Community Trail is planned to begin with a 1.5 mile walking route around the heart of the village. It will provide a link from the center of town to the historic San Antonio de Padua church plaza. The trail will serve as the cite of guided, historian-led walks, and interface with virtual information every day of the year. Each sign will provide a link to a web page for deeper understanding, with links to an Oral History cache, as well as a photo archive.
Future extensions of the trail are envisioned to connect with the Red River, and Enchanted Circle trail systems (already built, and those planned) to our east, and, will hopefully connect north to the Youth and Family Center and the Rio Grande Trail (via our existing Vistas de Questa trail on the north side of the village). Questa has always been an important location for travelers, and continues to be. This trail will bring Spanish Frontier history and culture to life for residents and visitors alike!
